Understanding Roles & Permissions

A guide to pre-configured user roles and default permissions, helping you manage access levels and platform responsibilities effectively.

Updated over a week ago

In Uniify, access to different features is controlled by roles. Each role has a specific set of permissions that define what they can and cannot do. This ensures that sensitive actions (like changing settings or deleting data) are only available to the right people.

Roles Overview

  • Owner: Can manage almost everything, including settings, users, and permissions. “Owner” is simply a title to indicate who is responsible for the team, if the client wishes to use it.

  • Admin: Same level of access as the "Owner".

  • Member: Standard user who can create and manage cases, and participate in most workflows.

  • Assistant: A lightweight role that can contribute by creating cases, but without editing or deleting capabilities.

  • Developer: Focused on technical setup. Can access the dashboard, and developer tools.

  • Account Manager: Has the highest level of access. Can do everything Owners can do plus manage Flows, Modules, Themes, and Permissions.

  • View Cases: Read-only access to cases and documentation, useful for providing support without making changes.

Permission Categories

Permissions are grouped into categories for easier understanding:

  • API Tokens - Create and manage tokens for system integrations.

  • Cases - Create, edit, delete, and view case data and documents.

  • Flows & Modules - Create and edit flows and modules, while others can only view or use them.

  • Consent & Settings - Manage system notifications and settings.

  • Themes - Control system look & feel (HTML, CSS, custom themes).

  • Users - Add, edit, and remove users.

  • Webhooks - Manage integrations with external systems.
