What does it mean when the address from the CPR register has a "hoej vejkode"?

Updated yesterday

When an address retrieved from the Danish CPR register has the status Bopael i danmark hoej vejkode", it means the person is officially registered without a permanent residence in Denmark.

A "høj vejkode" refers to road codes in the range 9900–9939, and is used in the CPR system to register individuals who do not have a valid residential address. This could happen if:

  • The person has not reported a change of address properly.

  • The person has been administratively removed from their previous address.

  • There is no address available to register them at (neither a residence nor a fixed place of stay).

In these cases, the person remains registered in their most recent municipality, but without an actual physical address. Instead, a "høj vejkode" is used to indicate no fixed residence.

Why is the address different in the form?

If you notice that the address entered by the customer in a flow does not match the address retrieved from CPR, this could be the reason. The customer may have entered a temporary or preferred address, but is officially registered in CPR with a "høj vejkode" – meaning no fixed residence.
