What to Do If MitID Is Not Working?

Updated over a month ago

If a customer experiences issues with MitID, there may be several reasons for this. Here are some steps they can follow to resolve the problem.

1. Possible Causes

MitID may sometimes have reduced functionality, making it difficult to complete the flow. This could be due to system maintenance or temporary service disruptions.

2. Try Using Incognito Mode

Ask the customer to complete the flow in incognito (private browsing) mode. This can help bypass caching issues or conflicts with browser settings.

How to Open a Link in Incognito Mode:

  1. Copy the link to the flow from your browser.

  2. Open an incognito window in your browser:

    • Google Chrome: Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the browser and select New Incognito Window.

    • Microsoft Edge: Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the browser and select New InPrivate Window.

    • Mozilla Firefox: Click on the three lines in the top right corner of the browser and select New Private Window.

    • Safari (Mac): Click on File in the menu bar and select New Private Window.

    • Safari (iPhone/iPad): Open Safari, tap the tab icon, and select Private Browsing.

  3. Paste the copied link into the address bar and press Enter.
Ask the customer to complete the flow in incognito mode (private browsing). This can help bypass caching issues or conflicts with browser settings.

3. Wait and Try Again Later

If MitID is experiencing temporary service issues, the best solution may be to wait and try again later.
